Water in Africa

Girls in Africa carry water a long way for school and home.  This is a dam area where they can get some water.  They must carry heavy containers and walk long distances at times.  Mrs Kinjanui remembers doing this while she was in Kenya.  She teaches kindergarten here at Rocky River.

Greeting from the bottom of the world, well nearly. We are a class of students that are based in Taranaki, New Zealand. We are a farming community of 200 students and nearly everyone in the area is involved in dairy farming either running or working on farms.

We’d love to be available to you as a resource if you want to talk about farming/water issues which you are studying at the moment.

Thank you for visiting ourselves. We just started the school year last week as it is our Summer at the moment. We start in February and finish the school year the week before Christmas so we are just going into our second week now. Our students have not been online before but are excited about doing so and slowing taking the first steps.

We will add your page to our blogroll and look forward to following your page for the rest of the year.

    • Mr. Webb,
We would love to hear about how water is used in New Zealand. We had original questions on the first post about water if you’d like to look over those. It would also be interesting to have my students learn about diary farm lands. Your volcanic area sounds interesting. The students always love hearing about animals and what school is like in other parts of the world. Some of the students have blogged before and some have not since I switched positions.

  2. We have school back tomorrow and I will get some of my students have a look at the questions, I don’t know if anyone has Skyped before in an Educational sense so I will talk to them and see, we can work out the hour difference and see what would need to be done. I think we’d have some students who would be very keen.
    Mr Webb and Room One.
