One day I went to the park.  I like to go to the park.   Then I went back home.

Then I went to my room.   I like to be in my room.   Then my sister came in my room .  We play and had fun.

Me and my sister played until it was night time.  We went to sleep.

I went to my cousins house with mom and Dad and sister and brother.   Me and my brother and siter really wanted to go.

We went there we were so happy.

We were inside our sister told us you can play a game.

First I went to the beach.  My mom gave me 40 dollars.  I said thank you.   When we got there me and my cousin Nathen went to the arcade.

Next me and my cousin Nathen got there I gave him 20 dollars and so we got some tokens.  And we play the one game and we won 1000 tickets.

One day I would like to see a tornado.  And I would take a picture of the tornado.  And show it to mom.

When me and my sister were playing the wii we wanted to play a different game.   It was called Sing it.  My mom said IT’s Dinner Guys!  OK!  So I said “ok!”    When we were done eating we played the wii again and my sister was singing.  So I sang to!  When I was singing I felt happy!

In summer I go to the beach then I go home.  In fall I love costume party’s.  In winter I like to play Santa Claus.  In spring I like to play in the sun and the rain.

One day I went to Carowinds  I went on the Intimidator it was funny very funny and then I went to a game and I won it was fun very fun then we left for my football game!  And I won it was fun very fun  my mum was with me it was fun.  Then I went to my grandmas house  I showed her my trophy and she said it was cool very cool and it was awesome.  Then I played my wii I won it was fun very fun I was happy very happy.  I even forgot my mom told me to come down and I did  I was very happy. I keep freezing out.

One day I went to the water park.  I went down the yellow slide.  Connor went down the yellow slide to.  My friend Connor went down the blue slide and my Dad went down the yellow slide.  My dad went down the yellow slide .  He made a BIG SPLASH.

On this weekend I went to the beach and me and my mom and my sister woke up at 6:35 and We were watching Tv and as the sun was shining we got all our stuff ready and pack it was fun packing and then every body got their bags ready and we left and how we got there was the car and we put our stuff in the trunk and then… we hit the road and we rode for three hours it was not fun and finally we got there and then… we got our hotels and it was really nice and we lived on the 8th floor and we were high in the sky and at night time we we went to the arcade and we had lots of fun And then we counted up our points and first we had 100 and 41 points and then my mom did another one and one hundred 91 points and then we left and then we went to go eat next to the arcade it was so good food and coke fries. It was really good and we went back to our hotels and went to slepp and that night we had fun.

One day I was at home.   I did nothing so I went to John’s house. 

 He had a wii and we played on it.   And we were playing legos to.

Then it was night so I went back home.

August the 24 me and my two brothers went to play soccer.  First Gibran was goalie.   Then we started to play.   First I kick.   I made a goal.   Brad kick but… he missed.

Then I was goalie.   Gibran kick it hard but… I cut it!   Brad kicked it was a flying kick.   I jump.  I… didn’t cut it.

Then  it was lunch time.   We had hamburger.  Then we rest.

One day it was snowing.   I got a carrot, 20 rocks, a hat.   I went out side.

 I made a big snowball.  I made a medium .  I put 3 rocks in the middle .  I made a smile.   I put rocks and the hat on.

  I put 2 sticks on.

Reading can be fun when we have “just right ” books.   It’s ok to read others sometimes if we understand them but to get the most practice we need to pick our books carefully so we can read them smoothly and understand/comprehend them.

Here is our brainstorm list of what each type of book looks like.   Can you think of other ways to describe them?   Encourage our reading by providing us chances to select just right books from the public library, school library or even the store.   Talk with us about what we read and build our vocabulary by discussing things we are interested in.

• Repeated words
• Easy to understand
• No chapters
• Less serious

Challenging Books

• Few or no pictures
• Too many pages
• Takes too long to read
• Words are long and confusing
• Don’t know what lots of words mean

• Too many words on a page
• Not interested in the topic
• Not appropriate for age
• Very serious topic

Just Right Books

• Know almost all of the words
• Has a medium size font
• Not too skinny or too thick
• Interesting topic
• Understand and can tell someone about it
• Can read fluently
• No need to reread to understand
• Appropriate for your age
• You can recommend it to friends
• You enjoy it
• It’s perfect for you!
• We love to talk with friends about concepts in the book (book clubs)

 

 

 

One day I went to see the Smurfs.  It was cool because it was in 3D.  The Smurfs came right in my eyes it was scary because it was like they touch me.   We ate popcorn and we drink soda.  Then one of the Smurfs was showing her dress and the wind got her dress and blew it.  Then the other smurfs shorts blew up.    Then the movie finished so we ate all of our popcorn.  It was delicious and we finished the soda.  It was good.  We liked the movie a lot.  It was funny!!!

The gingerbread man went fishing at the lake in a boat at the lake.  And then something pulls on the gingerbread man’s fishing gear.  Is it a fish?

Yes!  It is a fish the gingerbread man pulls it in.   When it is in the boat the gingerbread man gets eaten by the fish and then the fish jumps back into the water.
