Curl, Curl to Rocky River- Middleham’s Flat Stanley’s Have Adventures!

Thursday we received yet another mystery package and once again the excitement erupted in the room with predictions of what was in the package to where it was from.  The office staff is getting use to Room 117 getting packages.   A few Flat Stanley’s from Mrs. Monaghan’s class in England had  first traveled to Sydney and Miss Migan’s class and then made it to North Carolina to join their classmates who had arrived a few weeks earlier.    These Flat Stanley’s have already had so many adventures while visiting in Sydney we aren’t sure what we will find to do with them while they visit in North Carolina.

  • Some got to ride in a lifeboat and race down sand dunes.  They went on a rock pool adventures and saw starfish, crabs and water venus fly traps and saw the Sydney Harbor Bridge.
  • Others went to a Volcom sale which is an urban clothing brand and got tee-shirts, hats and jackets.  They watched rugby.
  • A third adventure was camping and playing and talking all night.   Another time they made up a town and pretended to work and do things in the town.  They also went to Clunes  and learned about plants and birds.  They also ventured out to The Big Banana and enjoyed the Hippo slide and the Fish slide and had a good time eating a chocolate covered banana.
  • A different adventure took some chestnut picking in the Blue Mountains.  They  made chestnut rice with them.  They went to the cinemas (movies) to see Battleship.
  • Another set of Flat Friends went to Queenstown,  New Zealand and went frisbee golfing and ice skating and did a lot of sight sighting around Queenstown.  They also went on the luge   ( a downhill cart race).  They then drove to Franz Josef and took a helicopter ride and landed on a glacier.
  • The last adventure during their trip was to gymnastics,  on to Curly Beach where we saw lots of sand and the ocean and got to climb rocks.  Then on to Nelson Bay where  we swam with sharks and sting rays and rubbed them.  At Stockten Beach we rode a camel and went four wheel driving.   After that they went to Tin Tin City and went sand boarding.  What would your favorite adventure be if you visited Australia?
